A Hard Day-

June 3, 2014 -
A day of facing Communism and leaving our Hungarian friends...

The Parliament House
Ronald Reagan honored for helping to end Communism in Budapest
Controversial WWII monument construction in Freedom Square
Memento Park- statues from the Communist Regime removed from around
the city & relocated here after 1989 when Hungary embraced a free market economy
Edina's family had one of these cars-the Trabant-
The body was made of recycled material similar in feel & durability of cardboard!
Union of Working Youth (Pioneers) eventually known as the
Hungarian Young Communist League.  All 14-26yo youth had to participate.
Edina remembers passing this monument every day at school as a young girl.
House of Terror- a memorial museum for victims of the Fascist & Communist regimes
located in the building/prison where they were detained, interrogated, tortured & killed.
* Edina took the boys to an indoor playground while Gabor, Matt & I toured this.*
Saying goodby to dear friends...

Thank you for your wonderful hospitality Gresz Family!
We love you & hope to see you soon-
