Home.

July 2, 2016

Today marks the end of our summer journey in the beautifully diverse countries of Ecuador & Peru.
The boys head out on a "treasure" hunt this morning while we parents pack up.

Agouti-
This rainforest rodent is the one wild animal capable of cracking into the brazil nut pods with its strong front teeth.  The brazil nut tree relies on this guy to help keep their species growing as the agouti scatters the seeds across the forest floor to germinate & grow the next generation of trees.

Packed up & headed for Lima

An appropriate way to end our time in Peru,
as Peru boasts the greatest number of butterfly species in the world-

The Owl Butterfly

The butterflies weren't shy to land right on you-

Lima International Airport

It is always good when the flight is on time, especially when it is a LONG way home

Home is really wherever the four of us are together...
but is is good to be back at this place!
