Thala Beach Resort had its beginnings as a sugar cane plantation but now 25 years later is a restored forest and one of Australia's last coconut farms. Today Carl taught us that there is much more to coconut than the shredded version sprinkled on Lamingtons (an Australian sponge cake dessert)!
Don't stand under the coconut tree! |
An osprey flying to its nest- we watched him enjoy eating a big fish |
Green coconut juice straight from the tree- delicious! |
A sharp instrument and lots of skill to get to the inside |
After our fill of coconut we headed down the path to Oak Beach-
Jumping... |
Climbing... |
Talking... |
Then more climbing! |
The boys enjoyed a brothers only dinner to finish out the day- (all meals are open air seating with sounds of waves and birds for mood music) |
