From Salamanca to Strahan

Saturday, May 23

Today we leave Hobart for the Strahan (pronounced "strawn").  It is Matt's first opportunity to drive on the opposite side of the road with the steering wheel on the opposite side of the car!  His only real worry is the animals that come out to the road at dusk... we have seen wallabies, pademelons & possums who didn't make it across the road.

Matt & I visited Salamanca Market on the walk to pick up our car & as a family we made several beautiful stops along the way on our 4-hour journey to the opposite side of the state.

Nelson Falls...
it hardly looks real... all the bright green moss covering the stones... beautiful!

On down the road...

Iron Blow Lookout-
we had great fun trying to throw rocks into the pool in the cavern left by mining

Ormiston House- our lovely B&B for one night.
From this widow's peak you had a great view of the port
