To Copenhagen

Friday, June 9, 2017

We have now spent nearly 3 weeks exploring the natural phenomena of the West Nordic region.  The plan for the second "half" of the trip is to tour Eastern Europe by way of Russia, Poland & the Czech Republic.
We've decided to give ourselves a 2-day respite of sorts in Copenhagen.  We have no specific itinerary here (except that I plan to wash clothes! & re-organize our luggage).

Until next time, Faroe Islands!

Arrival at the historic Admiral Hotel built in the 1780s-
It has a waterfront location near the Palace & the Opera House

Ice cream from Vaffelbageren...
yes, before lunch!

Open-faced sandwiches at a cafe with a lovely view of the canal

Iconic Copenhagen photo

Walking across the pedestrian bridge to find a park

A frisbee & green space!!!

The long grayish-brown building in the background is our hotel-

Waiting for the boats to pass through-

Amalienborg Palace

We were in need of some unplanned recreation but my main goal while here was to have FRESH clothes for everyone- It was a bit more of a challenge here vs. Iceland since there were NO instructions in English & all the machines were operated from a "master board" using tokens!

After 3 hours & some help from kind locals, we had clean, sorted & folded laundry.  Funny man Matt likes to come in at the end & take credit for helping- HA!
